Merrimack Valley FCU CEO Joins Local Boards

May 2005……Merrimack Valley Federal Credit Union's CEO/President Peter J. Matthews, Jr. has recently been elected to two Board positions, displaying his commitment to the credit union industry and the Merrimack Valley community.

Mr. Matthews joins 36 other local business leaders on the Board of the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce. The MVCC serves over 1,000 businesses in the Merrimack Valley community and provides a range of networking events, including Governmental Affairs, Small Business Programs, Business and Professional Advancement along with visitor, real estate and relocation information.

In addition, Mr. Matthews was recently elected to the position of Vice Chairman of the Massachusetts Credit Union League Legislative Council. The council reviews all federal and state legislative and regulatory issues effecting credit unions and assists in coordinating lobbying efforts. They together with the Credit Union League staff establish legislative priorities.
